Elections already started for KGB

Elections already started for KGB

In latest few weeks special services paid attention to several activists of democratic organizations and the web-site of Mahilou branch of the Viasna human rights center was hacked.

KGB officers suggested to get hired by their institution to one of the coordinators of the Flying University in Mahilou (the name is not provided by the activist’s request), but the young man refused, the human rights center Viasna reports.

Another activist, a student of the historical faculty of the Mahilou State Kulashou University was offered by KGB agents to become their informer, however the guy refused to accept such a suggestion.

A student of the same university had a meeting scheduled with special services, however, when the girl told about that to her acquaintances, including human rights activists, KGB agents themselves failed to show up for the meeting.

Apart from that an unidentified person started e-mailing articles, which discredit democratic leaders, to democratic movement’s activists in Mahilou. The e-mail came from an account, which was similar to the e-mail address of an activist Jauhen Boika, who later publicly stated that he had nothing to do with the e-mails and accused Mahilou special services of that.

The latest is the incident with the hack attack on the web-site of the Mahilou branch of the human rights center Viasna. Unidentified people managed to change the web-site’s password and post three articles about a journalist Ales Burakou and a human rights activist Barys Bukhel. The administrators of the web-site had to take it down for a while in order to fix the broken content.

The journalist Ales Burakou says that special services have become active since they are already preparing to the elections of 2015.

“The situation resembles 2010, when web-sites were created, which discredited the leaders of the democratic movement and recruited young activists. This can be treated as a sign that the elections have already started for KGB”, - the journalist says.

Ales Burakou notes that as long as his person fell into the scope of special services’ attention, than he, as well as the human rights activist Barys Bukhel, act and work in the right direction, which causes anxiety of KGB.
