Organizer of Milavidy feast Viktar Syrytsa summonsed to the Baranavichy District Police Department.

On 9 June civic activist Viktar Syrytsa, organizer of a festival in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Milavidy, received a notice to come to the Baranavichy District Police Department on 12 June, signed by the acting head of the Police Department, lieutenant colonel D. Maisenia. The letter states that a report of administrative violation was drawn against Mr. Syrytsa and he needed to come to the Baranavichy DPD (Chkalau Street, 5-333) to sign it.

"They can not forgive me holding the Milavidy feast on 2 June in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Milavidy. skay. On 3 and 20 May the Baranavichy CEC issued two unlawful bans on the cultural and historical event. I believe that the law was violated not by us, but by the Baranavichy CEC, which violated Article 51 of the Constitution of Belarus, preventing us from taking part in the cultural life," commented Mr. Syrytsa.
