Brest authorities receive tank as a gift

The chair of the city executive committee wants to use an amphibious tank for patriotic education of the youth.

The ceremony of presenting the PT-76B tank took place on August 22 in the memorial complex Brest Hero-Fortress, the city's website tomin.by reports.

The tank, which is still in good working condition, was installed on the pedestal near bridge to Pogranichny Island. The PT-76B tank is the only sample of the military equipment at the display that was put into service after the end of the Great Patriotic War (in 1971). New post-war exhibit items are expected to appear in the collection soon, the Ministry of Defence of Belarus informs.

The event was attended by chair of the city executive committee Aliaksandr Palyshenkau, representatives of the local authorities and minister of defence of Belarus Lieutenant General Yury Zhadobin.
