Author of revealing videos on MAP faces three year in prison (Video)

Criminal charges have been brought against the author of the popular videos Plant’s Chronicles and District’s Chronicles Ruslan Mirzoeu.

The information came from the activist himself as he reported about the case to the charter97.org web-site.

“Criminal charges have been brought against me. Actually I am supposed to be in prison already, but the prosecutor let me got with the recognizance not to leave before the trial. After the video District’s Chronicles I was under house arrest. Suddenly multiple violation claims started pouring on me from different institutions. They are insignificant, but I have about five violations piled up. The inspector has brought charges very quickly, and as I went to register at the police station I got the news. I spent three days in a jail, but was released by some miracle. Now I am waiting for the trial. I am facing up to three years in prison”, - Ruslan says.

The young man believes that this is directly related to the videos that he films.

“Of course, no one directly told me that this was related to my videos. The fact is that everything was alright before the video, but as I had spent seven days in the jail in Akrestsina Street, it all started. In less than a month such a number of violations came up, and charges have been brought. That is why I have the impression that I am being treated with prejudice, since acquaintances of mine are serving the same punishment. They have 17-20 violations, and everything is okay, I have only five and such problems appeared”, - the young man continued.

He noted that at the current moment he was not filming anti-social videos, but was simply making humorous reels.

“Despite that someone does not like something. I am trying hard to follow the regime, but I cannot refuse from creative work. This is impossible. How can someone kill a fiery impulse in one’s heart and one’s desire to fulfill themselves? I understand what a state I live in, but I cannot kill this impulse in me, which would me to rot on the inside”, - Ruslan emphasized.

We would remind that Ruslan Mirzoeu was fired from Minsk Automobile Plant for his series of videos about the life at the enterprise, and later he got imprisoned for seven days for new videos called District’s Chronicles.
