Donald Tusk: Europe needs full independence from Russia

Poland calls on European countries to take seriously the situation in Ukraine.
Polish PM Donald Tusk said during a visit to the coastal missile division in Siemirowice that Warsaw had to remind the European Union about the right direction of policy towards Eastern Europe, Polskie Radio reports.
The head of the Polish government added he would remind the country's allies about the need of independence from Russia's influence. “We need to build full political, financial and energy independence in Europe,” Donald Tusk said. The Polish PM visited Siemirowice on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO.
The missile division in Siemirowice protects the main naval bases of Poland from naval attacks of a potential enemy and supports the fleet in the coastal zone. Polish military experts note the division is mobile enough to protect the whole coastal area of Poland. It can hit targets both at sea or on the coast at a distance of up to 200 kilometres.
The US said earlier about its readiness to provide Europe's independence from gas supplies from Russia.
