Investigatory Committee confirms criminal charges for “insulting” Lukashenka

The Investigatory Committee is investigating the case on the fact of alleged insult addressed to the Belarusian dictator.

BelTA learnt about that from the head of the department of information and public relations of the Investigatory Committee of Belarus Siarhiej Kabakovich.

The Investigatory Committee department for Minsk Soviet district is investigating a criminal case under part 2 of the article 368 (insult of the president of the Republic of Belarus, committed by a person, previously tried for such a crime) of the Criminal Code. The charges are brought against a woman, born in 1946. “The reason for pressing the charges were inspection materials on the writing made into the book of complaints of Minsk Soviet district court, which had words and expressions, insulting an official”, - they claimed at the Investigatory Committee. They especially stressed that when making the decision to press charges the whole entry in the book was considered rather than a separate phrase.

We would remind that, as the charter97.org web-site reported earlier, the Investigatory Committee has brought criminal charges against 68-year old pensioner and a former political prisoner Kaciaryna Sadouskaja.

On 28 April 2014, when preventive arrests started before the ice hockey world championship in Minsk, and former political prisoner Aliaksandr Frantskievich was detained and unlawfully imprisoned, Sadouskaja made an entry in the book of complaints of the court of Minsk Soviet district saying: “Until when will judges follow the criminal orders of a mentally ill citizen Lukashenka?”
