Netherlands suggests depriving Russia of power in PACE

The question of restricting Russia's powers is expected to be considered at the first sitting of the winter session.

Representatives of the Netherlands propose to deprive the powers of the Russian delegation in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Izvestia cites sources in the Russian delegation.

The resolution prepared by the Dutch delegation can be considered on the first day of the PACE winter session.

A number of members of the Russian delegations lost some of their rights in April 2014, following the demand to give Crimea back and stop helping militants in eastern Ukraine.

The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Anne Brasseur, thinks Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko and other Ukrainian citizens illegally held by Russia should be released.
