Rada to recognize Russia as aggressor and ask the world for weapons

This statement will be an appeal to the parliaments of the world to provide military and technical assistance to the country.

On Jan. 27 the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plans to make a statement coordinated with the Ukrainian President, Prime Minister, and the leadership of the Parliament on the fact of Russian aggression in the territory of Ukraine.

This was stated by chairman of Poroshenko Block faction Yurii Lutsenko on ICTV channel, Censor.NET reports citing Liga.

"This statement will be an appeal to the parliaments of the world to provide military and technical assistance to the country which advocates not only its own freedom, but also the values of the whole world. I think that this statement will also reflect the appeal to the United Nations to begin the procedure of changing the statute to exclude the Russian Federation from the permanent members of the UN Security Council, where it constantly blocks peacemaking initiatives of the entire civilized world," Lutsenko said.

According to Lutsenko, a mechanism will be launched to recognize the representatives of the so-called 'LPR' and 'DPR' as members of terrorist groups by creating a database of terrorists with specific names and bringing them to answer.

Such mechanism, he said, will be implemented into legislation, and every terrorist will be personally added to this list and answer for his actions in Ukraine and abroad.

Earlier, head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine Ian Tombinsky said that before the EU can consider recognizing the 'LPR' and 'DPR' as terrorist organizations, this issue should be resolved within the legal framework of the Ukrainian authorities.
