Vitsebsk plant of electro-measuring instruments moved to three-day week

The plant has moved to a shortened working week because of the complex financial situation.

Charter97.org has been informed about that by workers of one of the plant’s shops.

“Vitsebsk plant of electro-measuring instruments has moved to three-day week, and this information is not available anywhere. They have wages of Br1,200,000. It’s chief executive is a pensioner, and he quitted, and his son has been made a chief executive. The situation at the plant is just awful, please pay attention to the situation. We all, all workers of our shop, are asking you about that,” workers noted.

Representatives of the plant refused to comment on the situation. The acting chief executive, Yauhen Lyadvin, which is indicated on the website, said on the phone:

“I would not discuss this question with you over the phone.”

Vitsebsk plant of electro-measuring instruments is a leading Belarusian enterprise in the sphere of development and manufacturing of complex electro-measuring instruments. Goods produced at the plant are used in usual and special conditions at thermoelectric and hydroelectric plants, at transport and aviation, at enterprises and in houses.

We remind that recently many enterprises are moved to four-day and three-day weeks, that wages are not paid completely, and that wages are reduced. Besides, some employees are forced to take unpaid leaves. Thus, over the last 10 days, the editorial office of charter97.org has received reports from such enterprises as Gomselmash, Asipovichi plant of vehicle units, Svetlahorsk plant of reinforced concrete products, Babrujsk plant of tractor parts and units, Mogilevtransmash, Strommashina, MTZ, Gomeldrev, Minsk ball bearing plant, the Belarusian Railway, Vitsebskie Produkty and so on.
