Rogozin: Russia and Belarus have closest cooperation in military sector

Belarusian products replaced Ukrainian sights for Russian self-propelled anti-tank guns.

Belarusian military plant Peleng replaced Ukrainian sights for Russian self-propelled anti-tank guns Khrizantema. The company also produces optical devices for Russian reconnaissance space vehicles, Russian deputy prime minister Dzmitry Rogozin said to TASS news agency.

“Belarus is ready to learn and master many things. I can say that Minsk-based Peleng plant learnt how to produce optical systems for Khrizantema tank destroyers. Peleng also works with Roscosmos and produces optical reconnaissance systems,” he said.

“We have the closest cooperation with Belarus. The country makes really good products that we don't have in Russia,” Rogozin stressed. “They easily replaced a part of Ukraine's supplies within the import substitution programme.”

The Russian deputy PM emphasised that the whole military-industrial complex of the USSR was divided among three republics – Russia (80%), Ukraine (15%) and Belarus (5%).

The Khrizantema-S tank destroyer can destroy tanks of any type, including advanced models with dynamic armour.
