Guz: I think Ambassador Yezhel is in Russia

Ihor Huz thinks the former ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus is in Russia.Igor Guz believes the former Ambassador of Ukraine in Belarus is already in the territory of Russia.

The Deputy of Verkhovna Rada stated that in the interview of Belsat TV channel.

A patriot should present Ukraine in Belarus. Yezhel was a pro-Russian one. When he was the Minister of Defence, he ruined our army. And there are many complaints against him. It is very bad he presented Ukraine in Belarus for a year and, only after I emphasized it in the Parliament, Petro Poroshenko noticed it. I think he is in Russia now, Igor Guz said.

The MP believes that Roman Bezsmertnyi, is the best candidate for the post of Ambassador of Ukraine in Belarus. He used to hold this position before.

It should be reminded that Mykhailo Yezhel was appointed Ambassador to Belarus on April 3, 2013 by ex-president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. Before that, he was the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, earlier - the Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In August 2014, the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine presented suspicion to Yezhel as part of an investigation of the criminal proceedings relating to destruction of combat service support of the Ukrainian army.

Mykhailo Yezhel was summoned for questioning in Kiyv, but the Ukrainian authorities were informed that since August 10, 2014 Yezhel had been treated in a military hospital in Minsk and therefore could not return to Ukraine.

In February 2015, the General Prosecutor's Office sent a request to the General Prosecutor's Office of Belarus to find out whereabouts of Yezhel and his state of health. "However, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus denied the request", the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine reported.

On May 12 President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko dismissed Mykhailo Yezhel.
