Ukrainian expert Alexey Arestovich: Belarus prepares for war

Military preparation aimed against Ukraine are carried out in Belarus.

Military observer Alexey Arestovich said it during a press marathon organised by Obozrevatel newspaper.

“The regime of Lukashenka has ambiguous relations with Ukraine and Russia. We know exactly that the Belarusian military took part in battles in eastern Ukraine as training. We know they train joint plans with the Russians in case of a full scale conflict, including an invasion of Ukraine. From the military point of view, Belarus has military preparations aimed against Ukraine,” Alexey Arestovich said.

The Belarusian Armed Forces have carried out regularly military exercises on the border with Ukraine. Russian services were involved in many of the exercises. Countersabotage actions were practised at Brestski training range on June 2-5. In April, servicemen of the Pskov division, a unit of Russian airborne troops that, according to human rights defenders participated in military operations in Donbas, took part in the joint drills in Brest.
