Lukashenka: We will never allow imposing so called human rights on us

The Belarusian dictator met with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad Al-Hussein.

The meeting was held in New York on September 27, BelaPAN reports.

“I'd like to say sincerely: we will never allow imposing so called human rights on us and politicising them. This is absolutely unacceptable. I know your point of view on the issue : you have never welcomed the politicization of human rights,” Aliaksandr Lukashenka said.

He noted Belarus closely cooperated with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. “We have no unsettled issues with your Office. I was informed that we have done well in the recent Universal Periodic Review of the United Nations Human Rights Council,” the ruler said.

He thanked the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights for the support of the Belarusian initiative of combating trafficking in people. “I would like to assure you that we will stay committed to this policy. We will promote it worldwide and will make a good example for other states in combating trafficking in persons,” Lukashenka emphasised.
