Belstat has published crime data for 2023. "Zerkala" analyzed the statistics in the regions. We report on where crime is highest in Belarus, and where residents can feel safest.

Journalists selected the largest cities (with a population of more than 60 thousand people, if there are no separate statistics for the city, the calculation is made for the region) and calculated the number of crimes per thousand inhabitants.

Thus, the criminal top 10 among the most populated cities and regions of Belarus looks like this:

1 Rechytsa district;

2 Barysau district;

3 Svetlahorsk district;

4 Minsk;

5 Maladzechna district;

6 Mahiliou;

7 Homel;

8 Zhlobin district;

9 Vitsebsk;

10 Salihorsk district.

In general, the leader in crime among the regions and the capital is Minsk region, where last year there was a crime for almost every hundredth resident. And the least crime is in Brest region.
