Uss and Statkevich cases brought to Public Prosecutor’s Office to be referred to the trial

Today The City Department of Internal Affairs Bureau of Preliminary Inquest transferred presidential candidates Uss and Statkevich cases to the Minsk Prosecutor’s Office to be submitted to the court.

On March 18 they were charged with organizing so-called “mass riots” on December 19, 2010.

Press service of Ministry of Internal Affairs reports: Cases of A. Kvyatkevich, D.Bulanou, A. Poznyak and A. Hrybkou, who are accused of participating in “mass riots” are brought to the Public Prosecuter’s Office along with the Alexander Klaskovsky’s case, who is charged under three articles at the same time: part 1 and part 2 of the article 293 of the Belarusian Criminal Code (“ mass Riots”), article 369 (“ The Authority Representative Contempt”) and article 382 of the Criminal Code (“ Unauthorized Power and Conferment Usurpation”).

It should be reminded that on December 19, 2010 Special Police Squad brutally broke up a peaceful demonstration of thousands protesting against the Presidential election tampering.
