The authorities are getting ready for merging the Minsk Wheeled Tractor Plant, GrodnoAzot and Gomselmash plants with Russian enterprises.

Belarus finds it necessary to create a number of assets alliances with Russia, Belarusian deputy PM Uladzimir Syamashka said Friday in the parliament, Interfax news agency reports.

“For example, talks on merging MAZ and Kamaz assets are under way,” he said. Syamashka noted it would allow to reach  mutually beneficial synergies, increase sales and reduce expenses. “Creating a joint venture is possible only on a parity basis,” he reminded.

The deputy PM added, “We need to think about merging such enterprises as Gomselmash and Rostselmash, the Minsk Wheeled Tractor Plant and GAZ.”

“We have proposals concerning the stock capital of Homel Chemical Plant and GrodnoAzot plant, where construction of new nitrogen facilities at a cost of more than $1 billion is planned,” he said.
