Lyubou Kavalyova still seeks for return of her son's belongings

The mother of executed Uladzislau Kavalyou, wants KGB chief Vadzim Zaitsau to send a written reply to her demand to return her son's notes.

Lyubou Kavalyova told this BelaPAN news agency.

Her second appeal to Vadzim Zaitsau was delivered to the KGB on July 16. She was informed about the delivery, but has not received an answer yet.

It is her second attempt to clear up what happened to her son's notes and receive them. The first attempt failed. She didn't get an official answer to her appeal to the KGB chief. She only had a telephone call from the KGB jail and heard a female voice saying they had no notes. We remind that KGB spokesman Alyaksandr Antanovich told BelaPAN the same information on May 28.

It should be reminded that Kavalyova received a parcel from the KGB with her son's personal belongings after the execution of a death sentence. But the yellow document case, which was seen in Uladzislau's hands at trials, was empty. “He had this case in the court. It contained notes he made during and after trials, when he and his lawyer were reading the materials of the case to appeal against the judgement. Uladzislau asked to keep these notes,” Kavalyova said some months ago.

She supposes her son could have mentioned violations in jail in his notes, so they were removed. “I did not receive any documents saying my son's notes were destroyed in accordance with the law,” the mother of the executed man says.
