(updated) CEC has already printed ballot papers on the 91th electoral district of Minsk, although registration of candidates ends only on August 23.

Press service of the Belarusian Christian Democracy reports that commission in Shabanovski constituency refused to register an activist Volha Kavalkova.

The reason – problems, identified in the tax return. According to the activist, CEC has issued ballot papers on the 91th district in which there are names of four candidates, although the registration of candidates ends only on August 23. Volha Kavalkova still have three days to appeal the decision of the commission. Activist managed to take a picture of the ballot papers.

The secretary of the Central Commission on Elections and Referendums, Mikalai Lazavik, learned about the publication from a TUT.BY correspondent and expressed “sincere” astonishment.

“Printing voting ballots at this stage of the campaign is impossible,” Lazavik said. “Technologically, we need to start making ballot papers to have them ready by the early voting. Everyone knows that we have plenty of time. There's no need to do it now.”

The CEC however does not plan to give official answers to BCD statements. According to Mikalai Lazavik, “We have no time and see no sense in reacting to every stupid thing.”
