Lyapis Trubetskoy makes Burton and Gilliam style fairy tale (Video)

A Belarusian band presents its new music video “Crescent”.

Rolling Stone presents Lyapis Trubetskoy's video for “Crescent”, a song from the band's first album in Belarusian language “Hrai” (Play). The digital release is scheduled for late October.

Crescent is a new work by Ukrainian music video director Aleksandr Stekolenko, who has been collaborating with Lyapis since 2011. Siarhei Mikhalok says the video was made in August 2013 in a forest near Kyiv and became an allusion on Eastern European fairy tales and movies by his favourite film directors.

“It was interesting to find yourself in a world resembling films by Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton,” Mikhalok says. “We love fairy tales, fantasy, dragons and monsters, so we enjoy how the video unfolds.”

Crescent is one of two new tracks from Lyapis's Belarusian album “Hrai”. The digital release is planned for late October. The album “Hrai” will be released on CDs, vinyl and mp3 player Lyapis Crew ahead of a big concert in Vilnius (November 30, Siemens Arena).
