There’s no one to work at Granit, but they still won’t hire trade union member

A trade union activist was not hired at the enterprise, despite the acute lack of personnel.

A former Granit’s excavator operator Leanid Dubanosau reported to the charter97.org web-site about that. He was fired from the enterprise for his activities with the independent trade union.

“I went to the placement service and they gave me three letters of referral to Granit for three specializations: excavator operator, excavator operator’s assistant and welder. I have qualification documents for all these specializations. I came to the enterprise, but they did not let me in the personnel department, having said that all the employees were either busy or gone. At the access point they did not let me in, although I had official papers, and the enterprise sent an official request to the placement service”, - the trade union activist noted.

He added that in the end he managed to get an appointment with the head of the personnel department.

“They refused to hire me for any of the specializations, since there allegedly no vacancies. I have a list of vacancies from the placement service. As of yesterday there were 38 vacancies at Granit in very different fields – from locksmith to deputy director general. There was also an announcement at the entrance to the enterprise that welders were needed. However, at the personnel department they told me that there were no vacancies”, - Leanid Dubanosau said.

We would remind that 600 workers of the enterprise Granit in Mikashevichy claimed that they were leaving the enterprise’s official trade union organization at the end of 2011 and indenting to create an alternative independent trade union group. However they did not manage to register the independent trade union, because a legal address was needed for that, and the enterprise’s administration refused to provide premises for that and continued putting pressure on the new organization’s supporters.

Since the moment of the creation of the independent trade union at Granit the most active members have been fired from the enterprise - Leanid Dubanosau, Aleh Stakhaevich, Mikalaj Karyshau and his spouse Marharyta, Hienadz Paulouski, Vital Pashechka, Liudmila and Anatol Licvinka.
