16:14 Elections in Lukashenka’s way: “European Belarus” activist arrested for 17 days
Yauhen Afnahel, activist of the “European Belarus” civil campaign, one of the leaders of the Belarusian youth leaders, was sentenced to 10 days of arrest by the court of the Tsentralny district of Minsk on 28 June. Taking into account that earlier the activist had got 7 days of arrest in absentia for participating in a demonstration on 1 May, he will have to spend 17 days in a jail.

A Mozyr dweller Khvedar Charankou who had been expelled from the university for participation in a protest rally against repeal of benefits, is to be taken to the army in two days after his birthday when he turns 18. He is to serve in the military unit No. 3214. As workers of the local military enlistment office say, he is to “disband meetings” and to “impose order” in Minsk.
