Ukraine not going to forgive Lukashenka for calling it “lousy”

The insulting statement of Alyaksandr Lukashenka about the Ukrainian authorities will influence the relations of the two countries.

It has been stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Belarus, Roman Bezsmertny, Kommersant-Ukraine informs.

“It is undoubtedly so. Any statement, especially such personal remarks, influence the development of relations. These emotions, which are out of place in the politics, and the more so in evaluation of bilateral relations,” Bezsmertny said.

He has also reminded that Ukraine invited Lukashenka to the events of April 26 many times.

“However we did not have an answer of the Belarusian side until the last moment. Only on Monday morning we learnt from the statement of the spokesperson of Alyaksandr Lukashenka that he would not come,” Bezsmertny informs.

Meanwhile, according to the newspaper, last Thursday Kyiv knew about Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s denial to participate in the ceremony, though Kyiv tried to convince Minsk to reconsider this decision.
