Issuing EurAsEC money delayed

Belarus counts to solve a question on issuing a tranche the EurAsEC Anti-Crisis Fund (ACF) loan in May.

The statement was made by the first deputy minister of finance of Belarus, Uladzimir Anaryn, on Thursday, Interfax news agency reports.

“A meeting of finance ministers of the CIS members states and a meeting of the Council of the Anti-Crisis Fund are scheduled for late May in Astana. This question [on issuing a tranche – Interfax] will be discussed and solved positively, I think,” Amaryn told journalists.

Answering a question about reasons for a delay in issuing the tranche, the first deputy minister said: “The reasons are mostly of organizational character.” Amaryn paid attention to changes in the management of the Fund. The representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Finance stressed the country “fulfills the conditions set by the programme”.

Commenting on the information about the changed requirements of the Anti-Crisis Fund relating to privatization in Belarus, Amaryn said Belarus still wanted to receive $2.5bn from sales of state enterprises. “It does not matter whether it will be in accordance with the list (of enterprises to be privatized – Interfax] or not,” he said. The first deputy minister emphasized any company in Belarus could be privatized if necessary conditions were met. 'The Fund does not demand a detailed list,” he said.
